Military Uniform
A military uniform is an important part of a country’s army’s visual identity. Soldiers and officers in all well-organized armies have always attempted to be uniformed such that their apparel is standardized and the same for each individual. Every member of the army is required to wear a military uniform. The quality of military uniforms and complete military equipment is crucial for every army personnel. Military uniforms and equipment play an important role in combat mission efficiency and are constantly being improved and developed.
The military uniform acts as a barrier between the body and the outside environment, protecting the soldier from a variety of external factors. The military uniform should be light in weight, waterproof, windproof, and resistant to all weather conditions (rain, snow, cold and hot temperatures), causing no skin irritation or allergies, the cut should be optimally fitted to the soldier’s body, to be as safe as possible, to be pleasant and allow for free movement as well. Military uniform is classified by the period it is worn, the purpose it serves, and of the department. Depending on the function there are three varieties of military uniforms battledress, official, and full dress uniforms. Civilians serving in the army wear battledress during duty, unit training, camping, and other activities.
A typical battledress consists of a T-shirt or blouse, pants, jacket, and military boots. A blouse or T-shirt should be warm and comfortable, not restrict movement, breathing, or circulation, and be light, simple to put on, and take off. It should also be pleasant to sleep in. Pants should be comfortable and have adequate room in the waist, groin, and knees to allow for the wearing of additional clothing underneath them in cold weather. The battledress uniform can be camouflaged with a strong green color. Official uniform can be in olive-gray color, lead blue, light blue for summer, and dark blue for winter. Olive-gray, navy blue, lead blue, white, and light blue are some of the primary colors for full dress uniforms.
